DAY 40................................

DAY 40

DAY 40

As the State Mourns the death of Lhendup Dorjee Kazi Khangsarpa, the first Chief Minister of Sikkim after its merger with the Indian Union, its also Day 40 of the indefinite hunger strike.

Shri L.D. Kazi Khangsarpa passed away on July 28 evening in his residence at Kalimpong. He was 103 years old.Shri Kazi was the first Chief Minister after the merger of Sikkim in 1975 and he is considered the architect of the merger of Sikkim into Indian Union.
Meanwhile the impasse over the decision/stand taken by both ACT and the State government remains the way it is. However, people are optimistic and pray that both the sides go to the negotiation table at the earliest because Dawa and Tenzing's health is failing each passing moment.
The indefinite hunger strike continues tomorrow into its 41st Day.
