hi,

i maintain the narmada.org website and would like to express my solidarity with the fasters and the cause. However, i do think that hunger fast as a protest is losing meaning in the face of callous govt. officials. I would rather have the fasters alive and healthy and fight rather than dead or kidney damaged. We have to come up with newer forms of non violent resistance to oppose these stupid projects foisted on people in the name of development.
i will put a link in the narmada.org. keep me posted.
i loved sikkim and the teesta river when i visited many years ago in 91.

Dear Mr. Manoj,
A foul fish destroy the pond! have you ever lived without energy? Does 5 person have right to oppose 50000 living in distress? Please review your thought for the benefit of the Nation.

Whitegod,

Yes, five people do have the right. If we do not protect the few, we cannot protect the many. We must do both.

We have States and we have Nations. Should we always give up the state for the nation? There always needs to be compromise.

Making Sikkim, whose main source of income is Tourism...a land of hydro-projects is not a compromise...it is a loss of livlihood for many.
